MARSSIM Closure and License Termination at Interim Onsite Storage Building, Rancho Seco Nuclear Power Plant, Herald, CA
Provided the support required to complete Phase II of the Rancho Seco Radiological Decommissioning Project. This encompasses the Interim Onsite Storage Building and an approximately 1-acre land area surrounding it, located within the former Rancho Seco Nuclear Generating Station in Herald, CA. Tidewater together with SDC and Philotechnics as the primary sub-contractors reviewed and updated all site implementing procedures and technical basis documents that form the basis for compliance with the NRC-approved Rancho Seco License Termination Plan (RSLTP). Developed a Radiological Survey and Sampling Plan that fulfills the requirements of the RSLTP, MARSSIM, and site specific decommissioning procedures.
Tidewater along with SDC and Philotechnics as their waste management subcontractor implemented data quality control measures to ensure survey results are of sufficient quality and quantity to support the final decision-making process including selection and proper use of instrumentation. All data collected was analyzed in Scoping and Characterization surveys following approved procedures and submit a written report to the Superintendent, Rancho Seco Assets. This report shall include:
