Sustainable Design Consortium (SDC) founded in 1989, is a SBA certified HUBZone and 8(a) Business Development program participant business based in Baltimore, Maryland that has the skills and experience necessary to provide comprehensive services in Architecture, Design Build, Construction management, Environmental services, Facilities management and Business consulting / program management. The qualified and practiced staff offers a level of service unsurpassed by current market standards. SDC’s goals are to not only provide results that leave clients operating with new economic efficiency, but to leave consumers with assurance that their organizations exceed performance standards.

Nadika Aluwihare

Chief Executive Officer and President Nadika Aluwihare is an energetic, hardworking leader whose vision and dedication have led to the success and transformation of SDC. Throughout his career, Nadika has streamlined and grasped nearly every operational department, including business development, contracts management, accounting, and strategic planning. With this experience, he has helped to transition and transform SDC from a firm focused on historic preservation and design build to one now providing facilities support services, environmental services, business consulting, and software development to a multitude of clients.

After graduating from college in Texas, Nadika has been working in Maryland for over a decade.

HOW WE WORK

Our continuous efforts in conservation for design services are paired up with LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design), which guides the planning and implementation of our buildings through their design and construction phases within the set standards of sustainability. This in return constitutes to cost-efficiency and the development of conservational habits in our projects.

Energy efficiency is usually looked at as a high cost determinant when constructing a building, even through the initial design stages. This result is people paying less attention to conservation and energy-efficient technologies that in practicality, is both cost-efficient and resilient in the long run and is also beneficial for the environment that we live in. The solution here is the importance of balance.

To achieve the green awareness that the environment deserves comes from balancing the economics of social well being with considerations for the environment. Our team of professionals sets turnkey standards in achieving just that. Connecting architecture with construction solutions, SDC systematically synergies conceptual designs with environmental sustainability.
